Fast Track Your Anxiety Relief: Embrace Self-Compassion Now
Self-compassion involves awareness, belonging, gratitude, self-care, and enjoyment of your own company.
Self-compassion involves awareness of yourself in the bigger picture of life, a sense of belonging.
Widen your view for a moment. See the tiny flower. Feel the texture of your socks. Hear the birds singing. Smell the oils emitting from the trees. Notice the person near you. See the people walking down the street. Feel the sun on your face. Look at the stars at night. Imagine the whole universe. Sense divine love.
Be still. Breathe. Soak in the light which emits from everything. Notice the light inside of you.
With curiosity and compassion, notice your thoughts and feelings, your needs and desires, your struggles and triumphs.
Be aware of the world around you.
You are here with the tiny flower, the trees, the people, the sun and the stars.
You belong.
Self-compassion involves gratitude. Be grateful for who you are. Be grateful for belonging.
Be grateful for the gifts and talents you have been given. Be grateful for growth opportunities. Tap into, and be grateful for the light, love and life around you.
I was running late for an appointment. I felt tense. I started saying “thank you” in rhythm to my deep breathing. After a while I felt peaceful. Gratitude can replace dissatisfaction. Reducing your tension and dissatisfaction is a loving, self-compassionate thing to do.
Gratitude helps us love life. Loving your life is self-compassionate.
Self-compassion involves self-care.
Self-care involves quietness, breathing fully, nutrition, movement, fresh air, learning, awareness of the beauties around you. Self-care involves speaking to yourself with respect and speaking about yourself, to others, with respect.
When I am tending to my needs, I am more able to tend to others. I am more in tune with divine guidance. I am more aware of and receptive of divine love and peace, and more capable of radiating that love and peace to others.
When I am not tending to my needs, such as nutrition, exercise, fresh air, and meditation, I don’t feel well, which makes it more difficult to receive divine love and guidance.
When I am doing self-care, I feel a greater belonging and gratitude.
Self-compassion involves making a decision to enjoy life, even with difficulties.
Make an effort to simply enjoy your own company, by being accepting of yourself.
When my husband takes me on a date, the best thing he can do for me is to enjoy my company. It wouldn’t be very fun if he was trying to influence me or change me. It wouldn’t be very fun if he was on his phone or thinking about his projects. It also wouldn’t be very fun if he was with me just so he could check it off his list of good deeds. Don’t we all want others to enjoy our company?
Figure out how to enjoy your own company.
Enjoy each activity of the day by asking yourself, “How can I make this fun?”
Remember gratitude, belonging, self-care, awareness of yourself in the bigger picture of life, and enjoyment of your own company.
